INWOOD, NY — Inwood residents with a craving for tandoori chicken, chutney, curry, and other delicious Indian dishes might be in luck, as a new storefront for an Indian restaurant appeared this week in Inwood.

The storefront is located at 4927 Broadway on West 207th Street.

The sign reads, Indian Masala House Restaurant, and has a white star with the word "New." A phone number also appears on the storefront, but it is an out of service line.

It's not clear when the restaurant will open or who owns the incoming joint.

An Indian restaurant with the same name is located in Rensselaer, New York, but the owners told Patch they didn't have anything to do with the new Masala House opening in Inwood.

One Facebook user mentioned that the owners of Bombay Masala at 1768 Amsterdam in Harlem told her they were looking at a space on West 207th Street, but the restaurant did not immediately respond to Patch's request for confirmation.

Either way, a new restaurant opening in the neighborhood is a welcomed sight as coronavirus losses are causing so many establishments to shutter up shop.
