Washington Heights native Nikolaos Taneris recently lost his battle with the coronavirus, leaving behind his wife and three young kids.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Hundreds of donors have responded to the call of a fundraiser for the family of Washington Heights native Nikolaos Taneris — a 48-year-old father of three who recently lost his battle with the coronavirus.
Taneris, who grew up in Washington Heights, is survived by his wife Georgia and their three young kids — a nine-year-old, a six-year-old, and a 22-month toddler.
"He was a proud and involved father, taking the kids to school. He joined school trips, and sent pictures of their adventures to family and friends," wrote the organizers of the GoFundMe. "Sadly the kids will have to go on without their loving father and primary caretaker. I am establishing this GoFundMe to help them in these difficult years to come."
