Theater Mag Releases Full Reference Guide For 'In The Heights'
Playbill Magazine released a lyrics guide for the beloved Broadway show's upcoming movie premiere.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — The "In The Heights" movie is set for the summer of 2021, and one theater magazine is making sure you're as prepared as possible for the viewing experience.
On Wednesday, Playbill Magazine, released a lyrics guide to Lin-Manuel Miranda's first Broadway musical.
"In The Heights" takes place in Washington Heights and tells the story of a young storeowner who watches different tales unfold within his tight-knit community as they pass through his bodega.

The show was nominated for thirteen Tony Awards in 2008, winning four, including the 2008 Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Choreography.
Playbill's guide for "In The Heights" goes through each act, breaking down the lyrics and the references you might not catch on first listen. The guide talks about such topics as the old 9 train that used to make stops in Upper Manhattan before its service got slashed, different musical influences that characters within the show reference, and details about New York City locations you might not know.

The Broadway show's film version was initially supposed to premiere in June 2020, but got pushed back due to the coronavirus. The film is directed by Jon M. Chu, who's directed such movies as "Crazy Rich Asians" and "Now You See Me 2".
Anthony Ramos will play the lead character in the upcoming film; he's appeared in the Broadway production of "In The Heights" before, and also was in the original "Hamilton" cast alongside Miranda.
