Upper Manhattan Restaurants: Tell Us Your Favorites

UPPER MANHATTAN, NY — There are countless restaurants in Washington Heights and Inwood yet, almost every time a ranking of the best eateries in New York City comes out, Upper Manhattan is left off the list.

Whether it's the best pizza shops, places to eat on a holiday or the tastiest types of cuisines, restaurants from Washington Heights and Inwood are rarely included in citywide rankings.

Residents who live in Upper Manhattan know that local restaurants don't need to be on lists to mean that they are some of the city's tastiest, but the constant omission is head-scratching.

Most recently, there wasn't a single restaurant in Washington Heights or Inwood included in the initial 570-plus eateries that took part in the first week of Restaurant Week To Go.

For comparison, 37 restaurants from Harlem and East Harlem and 41 restaurants on the Upper West Side took part in the first week of the initiative.

Patch is putting together its own list of the best restaurants in Washington Heights and Inwood.
