Uptown's First Food Hall To Open Spring 2019, Report Says

The North End Food Hall has been in the works since 2017.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — Uptown Manhattan's first food hall — a business model that has blown up across the city in recent years — will open in Spring 2019, according to reports.

The North End Food Hall (once called the North End Food Market) will feature a number of food and beverage vendors in its 6,000-square-foot space on Broadway between West 183rd and West 184th streets, Eater New York first reported. The space will have the capacity to seat 120 people, according to the report.

Vendors that have already been announced include Upper West Side hotspot Jin Ramen, pub Harlem Public, barbecue spot Salt and Bone Smokehouse, Bareburger and Mexican restaurant La Chula, Eater New York reported.

Developers behind the North End Food Hall started construction on the business in 2017 with an anticipated Fall 2017 opening, but the project has taken longer than anticipated. A business called Filtered Coffee previously occupied space in the development site, and closed when construction began on the food hall. Filtered Coffee was announced as a future vendor in the food hall in 2017.
