Wash Heights Jazz Org Set To Host Virtual New Year's Eve Concert

A local nonprofit is hosting its first-ever virtual New Year's Eve celebration. Here's what to know.

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, NY — There might be no holiday that feels more different in 2020 than New Year's Eve. Due to the pandemic, the usual plans are canceled, parties aren't being thrown, and open bars won't get overrun.

However, the Jazz WaHi organization is stepping up to bring some fun to the holiday.

The local nonprofit that promotes jazz performance and music education in Washington Heights is hosting its first-ever New Year's Eve celebration.

The event will kick off at 4 p.m. on Thursday and last until 10 p.m.

  • 4:00 - 4:30: Louise Rogers' Jazz Fairy Tales... jazz for young children
  • 6:30 - 7:00: Max Pollak and Jennifer Vincent... Rumbatap

  • 8:00 - 8:30: Carol Morgan and Jon Roche... straight-up standards

WaHi Jazz was founded by musicians Louise Rogers and Mark Kross in 2014 as a "resource for jazz performance and music education in their neighborhood."
