Mimi Sheraton, a food writer, critic, and cookbook author, selected the braised squab with giblets and oysters from the Beatrice Inn as her favorite meal of 2020. The iconic West Village establishment is a traditional New York chophouse and first opened as a speakeasy in the 1920s.
None other than State Senator Brad Hoylman picked the West Village restaurant Loring Place as his favorite meal of 2020. His selection? The Thanksgiving dinner kit.
"The turkey may have been the most tender I've ever eaten and the pecan pie was truly memorable," Hoylman wrote in the rankings.
Beatrice Inn and Loring Place might have the only two West Village eateries to make the rankings, but many other Lower Manhattan spots made the list. You can check out all the selected restaurants on the Eater NY website.
