$5K Wedding Dress Stolen From Greenwich Village Lobby: Report

The NYPD is trying to track down a wedding dress that was stolen from a Greenwich Village building lobby.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — There's a wedding dress thief on the loose. Police are searching for a man who stole a box from the lobby of a residential building in Greenwich Village.

Within that box was a $5,000 wedding dress, according to ABC 7.

The crime happened on Feb. 3 at 4:45 p.m. within a building near Washington Square West and 6th Avenue, according to police.

The thief entered the building through an unlocked front door and proceeded to take a box containing the dress, police said.

The owner of the dress told ABC 7 that she's already married and was getting the dress shipped to a different location when it was stolen.

Police released a photo Monday of a man wanted in connection to the incident.
