Big Gay Ice Cream Shop Helps LGBT Youth
The shop is collecting interview clothes for at-risk kids.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Big Gay Ice Cream Shop is holding a clothing drive for the Ali Forney Center, which helps homeless and at-risk LGBT youth, through Jan 8.
Specifically, the shop owners wrote in an Instagram post, "We are looking for clothes that a young person would wear at work or to an interview. Stop by one our New York locations with your new or gently used (and laundered) professional wear (dress shirts, pants, skirts, shoes, suits, dresses, briefcases, etc)."
Doug Quint told NY1 in an interview at his iconic West Village shop that he and his co-owner Bryan Petroff decided to work with the center years ago after meeting homeless LGBT kids when they drove the ice cream truck that started their business.

"How are these kids gonna get an interview outfit," Quint said to NY1, "when they're just worrying about where they're gonna be tonight?"
The store is collecting donations at all three of their locations (125 E. 7 St., 61 Grove St. and Gansevoort Market 353 W. 14 St.) through Jan 8.
