WEST VILLAGE, NY — A billionaire is expected to be slapped with violations after neighbors accused him of carving out his own personal, private parking space in the West Village, the New York Daily News reported.

The investor Noam Gottesman carved out a personal driveway in the sidewalk at 777 Washington St., between West 12th and Jane streets in the West Village, outraging neighbors, the Daily News reported Tuesday.

The driveway in turn scares off would-be parkers from nabbing a parking space in front of Gottesman's home. Plus, Gottesman's workers threaten to have cars towed if they pull into the space, the News reported.

Even a Daily News reporter tried to park in the space. A man told the reporter, "We tow people immediately."

Gottesman's representatives contend the billionaire investor got permission from the Department of Buildings for the curb cut — though DOB says original designs more than a decade ago planned for a study, not a garage or curb cut, the News reported.
