'A Dog's Purpose' Movie Premiere Cancelled

Universal cancels the premiere of 'A Dog's Purpose' movie after a controversial video surfaces on the internet.

Universal Pictures just cancelled the premier of 'A Dog's Purpose' due to the worldwide outrage that started after the disturbing video that was uploaded on TMZ. Animal organisation PETA has also stepped up and called for a boycott of the film. They are also taking further actions asking the producer of the film Gavin Polone to pledge not to use animals in films ever again.

The video shows a trainer is trying to get a German Shepard onto some turbulent water and the dog clearly didn't want that while the film crews are standing on the other side watching the situation. The dog looked terrified and was desperately trying to stay dry. In the video you can also hear someone joke 'Well, the water is warm at least'.

The producer of the film, Gavin Polone said that, he previously worked with PETA but can't agree with PETAs proposal of not to use animals in films again. PETA suggested that only CGI should be used not animals but Gavin noted that CGI is very expensive at the moment and not viable for all types of production.

Now, Hallstrom, the director of the movie did not comment about the issue at the moment but he is well known for works with pets and kids previously. He has always been good to them and directed some great movies such as, 'My Life as A Dog'. And that is why many people believe what was shown in the video was not actually what was happening.
