Dollar Pizza Shop Hand Slashing In West Village Injures 1: NYPD

A 67-year-old man's hand was slashed at a dollar pizza shop in the West Village Saturday night, according to the NYPD.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A 67-year-old man was slashed in the hand at a dollar pizza shop in the West Village earlier this month, according to the NYPD.

The pizza shop-goer got into an argument with a man and a woman, when the man pulled out a knife and tried to stab the 67-year-old at 99 Cents Fresh Pizza on Sixth Avenue near West Eighth Street about 8:50 p.m. Nov. 2, police said in a release.

His hand got slashed during the fight, and emergency medical personnel rushed him to Beth Israel hospital for treatment, according to police.

Police said the man and woman ran off to a nearby subway station. Surveillance images of them fleeing to a subway station released by the NYPD show the man with long hair and a beard wearing a leather jacket and a woman with glasses and a white shirt and scarf.

They were both about 30- to 40-years-old, police said.
