Feral Cat Boards A Train, Conductor Announces

"There is a feral cat inside the train, police are trying to remove the cat," a conductor told passengers on Thursday.

WEST VILLAGE, NY – Curiosity killed the commute. A “feral cat” was spotted aboard an A train at the W. 4th Street stop during Thursday morning’s rush hour.

The MTA emptied all passengers at two subways in Manhattan, causing delays on the A, C and E lines, according to the Daily News.

Service was restored once the cat was found at 8:53 a.m. - 37 minutes after it was first reported – the newspaper said.

Journalist Daniel Roberts tweeted about the incident while he was on his way to work.

He said the conductor announced, "There is a feral cat inside the train, police are trying to remove the cat, when they do, we can move again."

He subsequently tweeted that he “got the hell off and transferred to the D so I could get to work.”

The conductor’s announcement appeared to be an example of MTA boss Joe Lhota’s recent call for workers to give commuters more details when announcing delays.
