Fire Breaks Out In New School Building: FDNY
No one was injured in the fire, authorities said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A small electrical fire on The New School's campus caused administrators to evacuate a building and cancel several hours of classes.
A small fire broke out the basement of 2 W. 13th St. on Monday at about 10 a.m., an FDNY spokesman told Patch. The fire caused elevated carbon monoxide levels in the building and forced the entire 12-story structure to be evacuated. Authorities declared the fire under control at 1:10 p.m., the spokesman said.
The New School said in a tweet that all classes at the Parsons School of Design inside the West 13th Street building were canceled on Monday. Classes in the nearby New School buildings at 66, 68 and 70 Fifth Ave. were also canceled, although authorities said the smoke and carbon monoxide conditions were only present at the West 13th Street building.
