A Flower Festival With 1M Blossoms Will Blanket The West Village
More than a million flowers will transform Gansevoort Plaza this weekend, turning the new space into a European-style flower market.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A festival will transform the Meatpacking District within the West Village this weekend into a wonderland of more than one million flowers, over a hundred florists, and floral installations and designs as far as the eye can see.
Over 100 florists will descend on the Gansevoort Plaza Friday night, blanketing it with flowers and placing floral installations throughout the West Village neighborhood.
It is the first annual L.E.A.F. Festival of Flowers, which will be a European-style flower market based in the Gansevoort Plaza and feature more than 20 of New York's most popular florists. L.E.A.F was founded in 2019 by Moria Breslin and is an "independent organization championing the world of horticulture."

“In a city with an abundance of great florist talent and floral designers, I am so pleased to present L.E.A.F, our first annual Festival of Flowers,” said Breslin, Founder of L.E.A.F. “It’s been through the support of our incredible community and partners - especially the Meatpacking District, TF Cornerstone and all the Florists - that we’ve been able to make this a reality. We are delighted to provide a platform for a new generation of florists to showcase their talents, transforming the Meatpacking District into a riot of color - a gift for all New Yorkers throughout the weekend of L.E.A.F.”
While the main festival will take place in Gansevoort Plaza at 38 Gansevoort Street, L.E.A.F also engaged over 100 florists to design a series of installations within retail storefronts in the Meatpacking District and greater West Village area.
