A Quarter Of Greenwich Village Residents Are Now Fully Vaccinated

The COVID-19 rate in Greenwich Village has dropped to nearly 2 percent as residents continue to get vaccinated.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — The COVID-19 positive rate within the three ZIP codes that make up Greenwich Village, including the West Village, is trending downward as the neighborhood vaccination rate continues to accelerate.

Over 25 percent of Greenwich Village residents are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to the latest data from the city.

It is a vaccination milestone that corresponds with another smile-inducing trend in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood, as the COVID-19 rate among the three ZIP codes that make up Greenwich Village is now just over 2 percent.

The Greenwich Village's 2.38 percent positivity rate in its latest seven-day average compares to a citywide average that hovers around 6 percent positivity.

Along with over a quarter of residents in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood now fully vaccinated to the virus, nearly 50 percent of Greenwich Villagers have received at least one dose.

  • 10003 (East Village/Greenwich Village): 1.77 percent, 88 new positives, 4,972 people tested
  • 10012 (Greenwich Village/SoHo): 2.5 percent, 42 new positives, 1,670 people tested
  • 10014 (Hudson Square/West Village): 2.87 percent, 42 new positives, 1,463 people tested

Latest Vaccination Information For Greenwich Village

  • 10003: 44 percent first dose received, 26 percent fully vaccinated
  • 10012: 44 percent first dose received, 26 percent fully vaccinated
  • 10014: 49 percent first dose received, 29 percent fully vaccinated

In total, 45 percent of Greenwich Village adult residents have gotten their first dose of the vaccine, and 27 percent of the community is now fully vaccinated.

The number of vaccinations is expected to rise quickly as New Yorkers over the age of 16 can get vaccines as of Tuesday.
