Harry Potter Flagship Store Opening In Flatiron: What To Know

FLATIRON, NY — Harry Potter New York announced Tuesday that its flagship store will open on June 3rd for a magical shopping experience that will exist in a three-story, 21,000 square-foot space in the Flatiron District.

The store at 935 Broadway — directly next to the iconic Flatiron building — will be the largest collection of Harry Poter and Fantastic Beast merchandise under one roof in the entire world, according to a news release.

The Harry Potter New York flagship will have 15 different themed areas, each one uniquely presented to bring an element of the wizarding world to life.

Customers will enter the store by passing under a huge model of Fawkes the Phoenix, which is Albus Dumbledore's animal companion.

"The level of artistic detail and quality of the design inspired by the movies means Harry Potter New York will bring a completely new shopping experience to the city," said Sarah Roots, the EVP of Warner Bros Worldwide Tours and Retail. "With over 1,000 Wizarding World props on display, the incredible theming, along with experiences such as photo opportunities and the fantastic range of products, there will be something special for every fan."

Some of the props to be featured in the store will be ones that were actually used in the movies.

Fans will be able to browse for wands, explore Dumbledores office, take virtual reality trips into Hogwarts Castle, and pose for pictures inside a London phone box for a photo as if transporting into the Ministry of Magic.
