Heavy Snowfall Blankets Greenwich Village: PICTURES
Sidewalks, cars, churches, storefronts, and everything else in Greenwich Village got covered with snow on Monday. Take a look.
GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — It was a winter wonderland Monday across New York City and in Greenwich Village.
Snow flurried down from the sky as streets, sidewalks, parks, and cars were blanketed with almost a foot of snow and a peaceful stillness.
NYC was put under a state of emergency on Monday as the nor'easter brought up to 18 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 45 mph. Siren tones on New Yorkers' phones simultaneously rang out at 8 a.m. with the emergency alert issued by Mayor Bill de Blasio.
