Here's The 1 West Village School Closed Due To Coronavirus Cases
The West Village school is currently closed because of multiple COVID-19 cases linked to the building.
WEST VILLAGE, NY — Coronavirus cases have temporarily shuttered one school building in the West Village, according to the city.
The shuttered school in the heart of the West Village is P.S. 3 Charrette School at 490 Hudson Street.
The Charrette School has 589 students in preschool through fifth grade, according to the Department of Education.

The establishment has been closed since Feb. 11 and is set to reopen to faculty on Saturday and then to students on Monday, according to the city.
According to the Department of Education's guidelines, school buildings must automatically close pending an investigation when at least two COVID-19 cases linked to each other are confirmed in separate classrooms. The closure is extended when the infections occurred outside of school or a link between them cannot be determined.

As of Wednesday, there are 534 classrooms closed across the five boroughs and 111 extended building closures.
Since Sept. 14, 7,224 students and 8,287 school staff members have tested positive for the virus, according to the city.
Elementary K-5 students, pre-K, 3K, and special needs students are the only students currently going to classrooms. De Blasio has said middle school students will return to the classroom Feb. 25.
