Iconic Coyote Ugly Bar Reopens On 14th Street: What To Know

Coyote Ugly reopened Wednesday in its new 2,000 square-foot home at 233 East 14th Street, just a few blocks from its original location.

LOWER MANHATTAN, NY — The famed Coyote Ugly Saloon reopened Wednesday in its new 2,000-square-foot location in Lower Manhattan. Ownership closed down its original East Village location in September 2020 after failing to work through rent negotiations with its landlord.

The new location is at 233 East 14th Street. It's just a few blocks away from the East Village location that served customers for 28 years.

The new bar comes fully equipped with leopard wallpaper, green python designs, and an art deco influence throughout the entire space, according to the NY Post.

Coyote Ugly opened in 1993, but it skyrocketed to global fame after a 2000 movie called "Coyote Ugly," about a 21-year-old songwriter who moves to New York City to pursue her dreams but gets sidetracked by the notoriety she receives from her day job working at Coyote Ugly.

Coyote Ugly now has 20 locations around the world, but the East Village location was the first.
