Iconic Village Ice Cream Parlor Is Introducing A Burger Menu

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Morgenstern's Ice Cream Parlor is known for its dazzling selection of scoops and pints, but the iconic Lower Manhattan eatery is expanding its menu next week to offer hamburgers at its Greenwich Village location.

The ice cream shop at 88 West Houston Street is no ordinary dessert business as the food website Daily Meal ranked it as the best ice cream shop in the entire state of New York in 2020.

In unison with its address, Morgenstern's serves up more than 88 flavors of ice cream and provides nationwide shipping for its classics like Cherry Chocolate Chip and Salted Caramel.

But back to the beefy news.

The burgers, which will only be offered at the Greenwich Village location and not at the 2 Rivington Street outpost in SoHo, will be available starting on Tuesday, June 1, daily from noon until the shop runs out of patties.

The burgers are part of the owner's Nick Morgenstern's launch of "Morgenstern's Burgers, Fries and Pies."

The new menu features the five following signature burgers:

• The All-American Burger with a beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and special sauce.
• The Cheezy Sauce Burger with double stack beef patties, triple American cheese, mayo, and hot pepper.
• The Buffalo Burger with a pork patty, American cheese, spicy buffalo sauce, ranch sauce, shredded lettuce, and pickled celery.
• The Bistro Burger with a beef patty, American cheese, and crispy bacon.
• The Pork Teriyaki Burger with a pork patty, shredded lettuce, kewpie mayo, teriyaki sauce, and spicy hot mustard.

Sides include tater tots with gravy, flaming hot french fries, and garlic fries.
