Japanese Restaurant Nami Nori Opens In The West Village
Nami Nori, a new Japanese restaurant, opens in the West Village.
WEST VILLAGE, NY — A new Japanese restaurant focused on temaki hand rolls opened in the West Village.
The trio of owners Taka Sakaeda, Jihan Lee and Lisa Limb will bring temaki hand rolls and Japanese-inspired snacks to the neighborhood at Nami Nori.
Nami Nori, located at 33 Carmine St. between Bleecker and Bedford streets, opened the 40-seat eatery Wednesday.

Sakaeda worked for more than a decade under Michelin-starred sushi chef Masa Takayama. Lee is a veteran of Kappo Masa, and Limb previously led operations for chef Masa's New York City restaurants.
Menu highlights include open-style temaki with signatures like tuna poke with crispy shallots and salmon tomato with onion cream as well as vegan options such as eggplant with red miso and ginger scallion squash. The drinks list will feature beer, sake, wine, and a selection of teas, matcha lattes, and Japanese sodas.

Its hours are 5:30 to 11 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 5:30 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday.
