Person Hit By L Train At 6th Ave Station: MTA
A straphanger was hit by a train at Sixth Avenue in Manhattan, the MTA said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — L train service was halted in both directions between Brooklyn and the west side of Manhattan after a straphanger was hit by a train, the MTA said.
L train service stopped between the Eighth Avenue and Bedford Avenue stations for about half an hour after the person was struck, transit officials said.
The straphanger was hit by a train at the Sixth Avenue L train station in Manhattan, according to the MTA.

Power to the third-rail — a high-voltage power source for the train — was shut off temporarily while the person who was hit by a train was "safely removed," NYCT Subway wrote on Twitter.
The last stop on the L heading into Manhattan was at Bedford Avenue or Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues when service shuttered.

The MTA said to expect delays in both directions as recently as 3:44 p.m.
The NYPD confirmed police are responding to reports that someone was struck by a train after 3 p.m., a police spokesperson said.
