Man Arrested For New Year's Eve Shooting In W Village, Cops Say
A New Jersey man was arrested Monday for a New Year's Eve murder in the West Village, police said.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Officers arrested a New Jersey man for a New Year's Eve murder in the West Village, police said.
Clinton Martin, 45, of New Jersey was arrested and charged for murder in a New Year's Eve shooting that left Johnathan Berlin, 62, dead, according to police.
About 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve, officers found Berlin with a gunshot wound to his chest at 110 Bedford St., between Grove and Christopher streets in the West Village, police said.

Berlin was taken to Lenox Hill hospital, where he died, according to police.
The New York Daily News reported that police believe the murder was the result of a fatal drug deal when they found pot, drug paraphernalia and scales in Berlin's 5th floor apartment.

Officers arrested Martin Monday at 2:15 p.m. and charged him with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
