Man Sprays Unknown Substance in Woman's Face in the West Village: Police

WEST VILLAGE — The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is searching for a man who approached a woman and sprayed an unknown substance in her face at Horatio Street and Greenwich Street in the West Village early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at 2:15 a.m., and the man took off with her purse before fleeing the scene, a police spokesperson told Patch. He headed towards Jane Street, but it is not clear where he went from there.
The woman suffered injuries and was transported to Lenox Hill Medical Center, police said, but there were no updates on her condition as of Friday afternoon.

The suspect is identified as a male, about 330 pounds, and 5-feet-7-inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
