New Joint Opening In Longtime Home Of Daddy-O Bar In West Village
Bandits bar will open in May within the space that Daddy-O served customers out of for more than 20 years in the West Village.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — The West Village dive bar Daddy-O served customers in the neighborhood for over 20 years before closing in May 2020. Now a new watering hole is opening in its former home.
The new bar opening at 44 Bedford Street, the corner of Leroy and Bedford, will be called Bandits — and it is set to open on May 19.
Bandits will open with indoor and outdoor dining. At its capacity, there will be 32 seats inside and 30 outside. Once current dining restrictions are dropped, food and drinks will be served until 2 a.m. on weekdays and 4 a.m. on weekends.

The new watering hole will offer a modern take on an old school diner and dive, and incorporate 1970's elements into its decor, according to a news release about the opening.
The all-day menu will feature deli-inspired classics like New Jersey-style deep-fried hot dogs, steak and tater tots, and wedge salads. The new West Village establishment will also cater to vegetarian customers, offering a chickpea "tuna" melt and fried cauliflower wings.

Maybe the most unique element of Bandit will be its theme of "stealing time," as its decoration will include a collection of vintage clocks, hourglasses, and other time-telling devices.
