Harwood On Hudson In The West Village Renamed As The Leroy House
Harwood on Hudson is now known as The Leroy House.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — The West Village eatery Harwood on Hudson has new owners — and a new name.
The team behind Shelter Island's Vine Street Cafe, Terry and Lisa Harwood, opened Harwood on Hudson last year.
But a year later, the duo decided to focus on their restaurants outside of New York City and has passed on ownership to their business partners at Harwood on Hudson— Kim Nguyen, Bill Block and Laurent Fraticelli.

This month, the new owners renamed the restaurant to The Leroy House, located at 430 Hudson St. between Leroy and Morton streets.
"We set out to be a neighborhood restaurant that reflects our love of the West Village," Block, one of the co-owners, said. "On the corner of our block is one of the many beautiful streets, Leroy Street, and we are on the ground floor of a magnificent and uniquely West Village townhouse. So, for us, 'The Leroy House' made perfect sense."

The restaurant's interior will remain the same, as well as few classics on the menu, such as steamed mussels and a cheddar burger with house-made pickles. But chef David Werner will also bring new dishes to the menu, including dishes with Italian and French influences.
Dinner entrees range from $18 to $41 — with a special steak for two dish at $97. The Leroy House also serves a 4:30 p.m. happy hour snacks and drinks menu and brunch on the weekends.
"We have a great roster of house-made pasta, and are always trying to innovate while keeping the cost down," said Werner.
The eatery is situated on the ground floor of a West Village townhouse — and the new owners hope The Leroy House becomes a neighborhood staple.
"There are those signature restaurants that come to mind and help define all of our favorite neighborhoods in New York," said Block. "That's what we want to be for ours — a place that our neighbors love and that celebrates what makes our corner of the West Village so special."
The re-branded eatery is open Monday 4:30-9 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 4:30-10 p.m., Thursday through Saturday 5-11 p.m. and brunch on the weekends from 11-3 p.m.
