New Thai Pop Up From Acclaimed Chef Opens In The West Village

The recently opened pop-up restaurant is set to serve traditional Thai food in the West Village for the next six months.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A new Thai pop-up restaurant from a celebrated chef recently opened its doors in the West Village.

Thaimee Love welcomed customers for the first time on Wednesday at 615 Hudson Street, between Jane and West 12th Streets.

The theme of the restaurant is homestyle Thai cooking that includes recipes from Thaimee's family. The acclaimed chef is best known for her East Village restaurant Ngam, which won multiple awards since she opened it in 2015.

She has also appeared on the popular Food Network's show "Iron Chef America."

However, Ngam had to make the difficult decision of permanently closing the restaurant in 2019.

The new pop-up restaurant also includes various lifestyle brand products for sale, including meal kits, virtual cooking classes, and digital travel guides highlighting different parts of Thailand.

The menu is also unique.

The food options will change every month during the six months that the pop-up location in the West Village is set to remain open, according to Eater NY.

Here are some of the current menu options, Grandma Prapit's Southern Thai Rice Bowl, Slow Braised Short Rib Green Curry with Roti, and Thai Tea Poached Pear With Coconut Sticky Rice. You can check out the full menu here.

Thaimee Love is open Wednesday through Friday from 5 to 10 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m. You can also order for delivery Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 5 to 9:30 p.m.
