"NYPD Officials will be out there ensuring a safe & fun Halloween for everyone," the NYPD said on the eve of the parade and nearly two years to date when eight people were killed in a terrorist attack on a bike path near the West Side Highway. There's no specific credible threats to the parade, the department said, but reminded New Yorkers: "Public safety is always a shared responsibility."
