NYU Med School Ranked 2nd Best In Country By U.S. News

The NYU Grossman School of Medicine was ranked No. 2 in the nation on the 2022 U.S. News list of best graduate medical schools.

LOWER MANHATTAN, NY — The latest U.S. News & World Report rankings for best graduate schools in the country have been released, with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine getting ranked as the second-best med school in the nation.

The school's central campus is located at 550 1st Avenue as the graduate medical program boasts 29 academic departments with nationally and internationally recognized faculty in clinical and basic sciences.

Here are the top five medical schools in the country, according to the 2022 U.S. News & World Report “Best Graduate Schools” ranking.

  2. New York University
  3. Duke University
  4. Columbia University (tie)
  5. Stanford University (tie)
  6. University of California-San Francisco (tie)

U.S. News based their rankings on expert opinions and statistics that measure the quality of the school’s faculty, research and students, it said in a news release.

Statistical surveys were sent to more than 23,000 academic professionals in the fall of 2020 and early 2021 to find the statistical portion of the methodology.

The NYU medical school was founded in 1841, but wasn't renamed NYU Grossman School of Medicine until November 2019 in an effort to honor the current dean and CEO, Robert Grossman.

"We foster collaboration among outstanding scientists and clinical researchers. This teamwork inspires new ideas and discoveries, and helps translate scientific advances into innovative ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease," reads the Grossman School of Medicine's description of its research programs.
