Omakase Room by Maaser opened in the West Village.
WEST VILLAGE, NY — A new omakase spot has opened in the West Village on Bleecker Street.
Omakase Room by Maaser opened late July at 321 Bleecker St., between Grove and Christopher streets.
From chefs Peter Lin and Chunyu Chen, the omakase experience — meaning "chef's choice" — brings fish sourced from Tokyo's vendors in Sakasyu that are flown in from Japan three times a week, according to the restaurant's website.

There is a 14-seat bar, where the owners will focus on sake, reported Eater. The restaurant doesn't have a liquor license yet, the website reported.
The restaurant will go before Community Board 2's liquor license committee, which issues recommendations regarding licenses to the State Liquor Authority, on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.
The eatery's hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 12 to 3 p.m.; Tuesday to Thursday 5 to 10 p.m.; and Friday to Saturday 5 to 11 p.m.
