Police Seek Help Identifying Attempted Robbery Suspect
Police are seeking the public's help locating a suspect who assaulted two women at 236 West 15th Street at the end of June.
WEST VILLAGE, NY – Police are seeking the public's help locating a suspect who assaulted two women in an attempted robbery at 236 West 15th Street at the end of June.
On Saturday, June 26 around 11:30 p.m., two women, 31 and 33, were walking on the sidewalk when they were approached by an unidentified man, according to police.
The man, unprovoked, grabbed the 31-year-old woman, threw her into a scaffolding pole and then onto the ground. He dragged her along the ground while attempting to remove her purse, police said.

The man then punched the 33-year-old woman in the face before running away.
The 31-year-old sustained severe cuts to the back of her head and the 33-year-old sustained a bruise to the face. EMS transported both women to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.
