MEATPACKING DISTRICT, NY — The massive two-floor club/restaurant Spice Market will be closing in September — but maybe not for good.
The Asian-inspired restaurant from Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Phil Suarez will serve its last meal on Sept. 29 after over 12 years in the Meatpacking District. They are, however, looking for a new location in the city.

Eater reported earlier this summer the restaurant would be closing after the lease ran out, because property owner Midtown Equities was looking for a different tenant at 403 W. 13th St. In Spice Market's statement, it said the two sides came to an agreement to be released from its lease before its early-2017 conclusion.
Vongerichten and Suarez will be plenty busy with other tasks, though. The duo are partners in dozens of other restaurants, including new vegetarian restaurant abcV, which will open in September, according to grubstreet.

Spice Market itself has locations in Qatar and Mexico as well, so if you need that exact restaurant in your life, you have options.
