WEST VILLAGE, NY — A thief grabbed a woman's neck and shoved her to the ground to rob her Monday night, cops said.

The robber grabbed the 24-year-old woman's neck and pushed her down before grabbing her backpack and running off Monday just before midnight, cops said.

Police said she was attacked just before entering an apartment building at Grove and Bedford streets.

The robber fled with her backpack that had a cell phone, $40 and credit cards, according to police.

The woman had minor lower back injuries but was not taken to a hospital, police said.

The man was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with shorts and black sneakers, according to surveillance images released by the NYPD.
