The derailment was caused by a "saboteur" who clamped wooden planks onto the roadbed, according to the Daily News report. The man responsible for the derailment was seen laughing at his accomplishment moments after the derailment and Good Samaritans restrained him until police arrived to take him into custody, the report said.
