Tropical Storm Isaias Leaves Its Mark On The West Village: Photos
Fallen trees and branches were scattered across the West Village and Greenwich Village as the tropical storm tore through the city Tuesday.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Tropical Storm Isaias made itself felt Tuesday in the West Village and Greenwich Village. While Manhattan was less impacted than the other four boroughs, strong winds and torrential rain left trees and branches scattered throughout the neighborhoods.
The storm roared into the city just after noon, delivering 70 mph winds in some parts of New York — the strongest since Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
Con Edison reported that thousands of customers were without power Tuesday afternoon, but the number never rose above 20 in Manhattan.

View this post on InstagramIn Spanish, there is a refrain: “Después de la tormenta, siempre llega la calma”. (After the storm, the calm always arrives). Though there are some downed tree limbs after #Tropical #storm #isaias blew through #newyorkcity #Gotham (See the #video). It was very #calm after the storm. #lagranmanzana #storm #tormenta
