Village Org Releases E-Program Schedule For December

Village Preservation will offer various lectures, panel discussions, and virtual tours of local issues and places.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — The Village Preservation announced its November virtual-programming schedule on Friday.

Founded in 1980, Village Preservation is "dedicated to preserving the architectural heritage and cultural history of Greenwich Village, the East Village and NoHo."

Here is a selection of the online programming that the organization is offering in November, including a roundtable talk about local small business and an oral history of the music to come out of the Village.

A few of the programs are available only for members of the organization.

A Small Business Roundtable: Support, Promote, Protect — Dec. 2, 6 p.m.

  • At a time when public health is preventing business from operating in their usual manner, the Village organization is bringing together local business owners to "shine a light on six inspiring small businesses in our neighborhoods." The conversation will include histories of each business, and what the owners are doing to best offer a virtual marketplace. You can register for the Zoom link here.

Art and Artists of the Village with Executive Director Andrew Berman — Dec. 3, 6 p.m.

  • This event is for members only. Berman wil look at some of the great art that came out of Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo. You have to email rsvp@gvshp.org to register for the event.

Village Preservation Continuing Education Course — Dec. 1, 3, 8, 10

  • The Village Preservation frequently offers an education class that includes virtual walking tours and museum visits of local destinations, classes on zoning laws, and explanations of what it is like to work in NYC's Department of Buildings.
