West Vill Cafe Celebrating 1-Year Anniversary With Free Pastries
Pane Pasta, an Italian cafe in the West Village that opened right before the pandemic shutdown NYC, is celebrating its anniversary Sunday.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Pane Pasta opened in the West Village on March 21, just before the coronavirus pandemic fully shut down restaurants for months. On Sunday, the Italian cafe is celebrating making it to its one-year anniversary by giving out free sampling plates of pasta and savory and sweet delights on Sunday outside the restaurant.
Pane Pasta is located at 58 West 8th Street, between 6th Avenue and Greenwich Avenue. The cafe will be handing out free treats on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
"With a passion for authentic food from back home, they (owners Nicenzo Virzi and Pietro Chirco) hope that Pane Pasta will transport you with their specialties as you indulge in the flavors of Sicily that includes handmade pasta, arancine, panelle, rosticceria Palermitana and Dolci," said Pane Pasta in a news release.
