Yaso Noodle Bar Opens In Greenwich Village

Yaso Noodle Bar opened at 289 Mercer St.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — A Shanghainese noodles eatery opened in Greenwich Village.

Yaso Noodle Bar, with Yaso Tangbao outposts from the same team in Downtown Brooklyn and Industry City, opened at 289 Mercer St. between Waverly Place and East Eighth Street, Eater first reported.

The fast casual spot serves noodle dishes, but Yaso previously became known for its popular soup dumplings.

Chef Zong Xing Tu, Chi Zhang and Kevin Gu are behind Yaso Noodle Bar's outpost near New York University, according to Eater.

"Yaso Noodle Bar is the new concept from the team behind Yaso Tangbao, one of the very first Shanghainese fast-casual restaurants," the new Mercer Street restaurant wrote on Instagram.

The team is "seeking to showcase Shanghainese street food culture in a modern, accessible environment without sacrificing authentic flavors and traditional culinary techniques."

The new location's soft opening hours are Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday noon to 8 p.m.
