2017 Primary Election Preview: Suffolk County 11th Legislative District - Republican

This Tuesday, residents will be voting in several local primary elections to choose the candidates to run on Election Day on Nov. 8.

Voters will get the chance to elect the Republican candidate for Suffolk County Legislator - 11th District.

Currently, the seat is occupied by Thomas Barraga (R) who will not be seeking re-election due to reaching his term limits.

Mike McElwee, Barraga's son-in-law, and Steven Flotteron will both be running for the Republican spot.

Here's what else you need to know before heading to the polls:

Polling Times: Polls will open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

District: The 11th legislative district covers West Islip, Brightwaters, most of Bay Shore and parts of Islip, Islip Terrace and Deer Park.
