Boys Soccer: Lions Top East Islip (Photos)

West Islip High School's boys soccer team continued its strong play as the Lions topped East Islip 3-1 Wednesday at the high school.

With the teams trading back-to-back goals within minutes of each other near the midway point of the first half, West Islip took the lead for good as senior Dan Madden found the back of the net off a corner kick by teammate John Varley (two assists). Ryan Kenny put West Islip ahead 3-1 with an early second half goal.

Goaltender Sean McAllister made three saves for West Islip.

The Lions (7-2-2 in League III, 8-2-3 overall) have three games remaining in the regular season: Friday at Centereach, next Monday at home against Smithtown East and next Wednesday at Riverhead.
