Brentwood RadioShack To Close
The store is among a total of 14 Long Island stores to shut down.
After announcing plans to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time in two years, RadioShack released the list of stores that would be closing, including 14 on Long Island.
Among the 14 store closings, the Brentwood location at the Marketplace At Brentwood on 51 Wicks Road, will be shutting down.
According to court documents obtained by Newsday, the electronics chain is looking to close 187 stores in its second round of bankruptcy filings. The company hopes to liquidate the stores by the end of the month, but some could be closed sooner.

The other Long Island stores closing are:
- 2554 Long Beach Road in Oceanside
- 173 Glen St. in Glen Cove
- 1690 Sunrise Highway in Merrick
- 1769 Grand Ave. in North Baldwin
- 385 S. Oyster Bay Road in Plainview
- 293 Middle Country Road in Selden
- 1975 Wantagh Ave. in Wantagh
- 2413 Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park
- 3491 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown
- 353 William Floyd Pkwy. in Shirley
- 1530 Union Turnpike in New Hyde Park
