Cops: Bay Shore Man Sold Heroin to Undercover Detective

The arrest occurred in Mineola just after midnight on Saturday, police say.

A Bay Shore man was arrested in MIneola after selling heroin to undercover police officer early Saturday, authorities said.

Nassau Police say Marcos Barrera Rivera, 29, while on parole, sold a quantity of heroin for an agreed amount of money to an undercover detective at 12:05 a.m. at an undisclosed location. Police did not reveal the location of the sale because of an ongoing investigation, according to Newsday.

Rivera was placed under arrest without incident, police said.

Rivera is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, one count of attempted third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, and violation conditional discharge.

He is to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
