In fact, the National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for Suffolk County.
“Sensitive vegetation may be damaged or killed due to the below freezing temperatures,” the NWS said in the watch, which will be in effect from 2-10 a.m. Sunday.

The first freeze of the season may be coming earlier than usual. The average date for the first freeze on eastern Long Island is November 1, the NWS said.

- Friday Afternoon- Mostly sunny, with a steady temperature around 62. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
- Friday night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. West wind 5 to 7 mph.
- Saturday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. Northwest wind 8 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.
- Saturday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 36. Northwest wind around 17 mph.
