Good Samaritan To Open Brand-New Cancer Center Next Year
The local hospital will open the $14 million center in 2019.

WEST ISLIP, NY - Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip will be opening a new cancer center next year.
The two-floor center in the hospital, located on Montauk Highway, will feature a 22-bay infusion center, 12 physician offices and 20 exam rooms, with flexible space that could be converted to accommodate for additional growth.
The new center will also allow the hospital to centralize its cancer care, combining the infusion services of six medical oncologists at two separate offices into one easily accessible location with additional pharmacy and laboratory-related services.

In addition, genetic counseling, social work, nutrition and dietary services will be featured at this location as well patient navigators to assist with scheduling appointments and coordinating care.
The Center will be adjacent to the north side of Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home as part of a $14 million renovation project that will utilize nearly 25,000 square feet of unoccupied space.

"This will dramatically improve the patient experience for cancer infusion services in a more convenient and contemporary outpatient setting with dedicated parking and separate entrance," a statement from the hospital read.
