Islip To Host Sandy Informational Meeting

Representatives from Federal, State and local governments will be in attendance to answer questions.

Islip Town will host a free informational meeting to allow local residents recovering from Hurricane Sandy to meet with various governmental organizations and obtain information.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 5:30 p.m. at Islip Town Hall West, 401 Main Street in Islip.

Disaster assistance and mitigation representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency are scheduled to be in attendance along with the Red Cross. In addition, representatives from the New York State Office of Emergency Management and the New York State Department of Insurance will also be on hand.

Also at the meeting will be various Islip Town officials including members of the Town Board and representatives from HAZMAT, environmental control and the planning and building departments.
