Long Island Thanksgiving Grocery Store Hours

LONG ISLAND, NY - Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and if you need to make a quick last-minute grocery store run, don't worry.

Few things seem to be able to unify Americans these days, but one of them is that overwhelming feeling of dread when you realize a key ingredient for that perfect Thanksgiving feast never made it into the shopping cart.

Fortunately, many grocery stores on Long Island will remain open on "Turkey Day," at least for a little while.

So if you're wondering which stores will be will be open on Thanksgiving — Thursday, Nov. 22 — while you're in the middle of cooking a feast for the whole family, we got you covered:

• Target: All stores open 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
• Walmart: Open usual hours for grocery shoppers on Thanksgiving. Black Friday deals start at 4 p.m.
• Whole Foods: Hours vary by store. Most suburban locations are open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., although some open at 7 a.m.
• Stop & Shop: All stores will be open until 5 p.m.
• King Kullen: Stores will be open from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
