Meet Blake, Shelter Pet of the Week

Seeking a new family pet? This sweet pup might be the right one for you and your family.

Blake is a gorgeous, medium-sized, male German shepherd pup with a short, black-tan-and-white coat of fur at the Town of Islip Animal Shelter who's just waiting to find his forever home filled with much love and care to spare.

Blake is a young German shepherd with a very strong play/work drive.

"He loves to play with toys and chase balls. He's not overly food motivated," according to shelter staff.

"Blake needed some minor surgery to remove an abcess when he came in so he might need some follow-up care," the staff said.

He's already been neutered, and is up-to-date with routine shots. He also prefers a home without other dogs, noted staff.

"He'll definitely need an owner with German shepherd or working dog experience. Please come to the shelter and meet Blake," the shelter urged.
