Meet Wilbur, Shelter Pet of the Week
Seeking a new family pet? This sweet pup might be the right one for you and your family.
Wilbur is an adorable, medium-sized, adult male American Staffordshire Terrier/doberman pinscher mix pup with a short, tan-and-white coat of fur at the Town of Islip Animal Shelter who's just waiting to find his forever home filled with much love and care to spare.
"A mixed-breed male, Wilbur is so sweet and very affectionate. He's a smart boy who already knows his obedience commands, walks pretty nicely on the leash and is just a pleasure. He knows how to enjoy life and loves to roll in the cool grass, lay in the warm sun and just be a dog," according to shelter staff.
"He's likely about five or six years old and is just at that perfect time when he's old enough to be calmer and young enough to still have plenty of years ahead," the staff said.

He's already been neutered, and is up-to-date with routine shots. He also loves to be brushed and petted, enjoys getting treats and seems to just be a very happy dog, noted staff.
"The only thing missing for Wilbur is for the right family to come along and bring him home. Please come to the shelter and meet Wilbur," the shelter urged.
