WEST ISLIP, NY - Just months after getting married, Long Island residents Emily and Nathaniel Larson are already on to their next adventure — opening their first business.

The couple, who just got married in June, opened House of Juice on 187 Sunrise Highway on August 9.

The South Bay Commons, which also houses a gym and a supplement store, seems to be the perfect place for the new juice bar.

"We felt like this is was missing from the community," Emily, a Babylon native, told Patch.

The opening was a long time in the making, as the couple has been working towards building the business over the past year.

The space was previously home to a cellphone store, so Nathaniel and Emily's father worked to completely change to space and build the new store from the ground up.

"They really put their heart and soul into building the place," Emily said.

House of Juice offers a variety of smoothie bowls, juices, wraps, sandwiches and avocado toast.

The food is all organic, made on site and has no artificial flavors or sugars.

As someone who has severe food allergies, Emily knows it can be unnerving to go into some places and not know how they're making the food, which is what made her want to open a natural eatery.

"We're just really natural and this is how we eat at home so we just wanted to share that with the community," she said.

So far, the two have been welcomed by the West Islip community with open arms.

The fan favorite seems to be the peanut butter banana smoothie, according to Emily.

"Seeing our customers so happy when they get their juice or smoothie or whatever they get, that's all the reward," she said.

Although both work full time — Emily as a school librarian at St. Anthony's High School and Nathaniel as a real estate agent — the couple felt like it was the right time to open their business.

"I don't think health is going out of style, it seems to be a want and a need in the community so we felt it's the right thing to do," Emily said.

House of Juice is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
